Resistance

“Finding beauty in a broken world is

creating beauty in the world we find.“

Terry Tempest Williams

The four Fall/Winter directions reflect a response to the challenges shaping today’s world, disconnection, fragmentation, chaos and uncertainty. Design becomes a form of resistance and a coping mechanism: looking for a sense of control, questioning outdated systems, valuing quality and durability, and embracing meaning and freedom. Whether through playful irony, hybrid materials, or the reworking of tradition, clothing offers a way to process change and express evolving forms of identity.

It marks a shift in how people define freedom and meaning, not through excess or status but through connection and creativity. Silhouettes become more layered and adaptable, materials more expressive, and references can come from any era. Clothes offer a way to express tactility in an increasingly non-physical world and express something we can feel, remember, and imagine.

1/ Beyond the Horizon

The language of traditional dress is reinterpreted through a playful and subversive lens. By remixing symbols of power and class, it challenges the authority and power embedded in these garments and opens space for new narratives. Argyles and checks become symbols of hierarchy, and legacy. Clothing becomes a playful medium for cultural critique and an expression of the awareness of social structures.

2/ Roots of Renewal

Garments are built to feel grounded but also elevated, shaped by natural textures and the tactile richness of crafted details. The use of textiles emphasizes warmth and comfort. The shapes do not impose but adapt, creating a feeling of balance and renewal. People are reimagining how to live, through values that align beauty with responsibility, and care and but also a sense of freedom and connection.

3/ A New Kind of Freedom

A new kind of freedom embraces dressing as a joyful act of self-expression, layering stories, time periods, and cultural references to create characters. Colour becomes a language, adding emotions and symbolic meaning. With a blend of irony and iconography, it reflects on society’s issues, frustrations and contradictions. It is a form of rebellion, to counter disconnection, and add meaning to the ordinary.

4/ The Power of One

This direction embraces fragmentation and structured layering to redefine proportions, creating rhythm and fluidity through architectural silhouettes. Elevation comes from material choices, lightweight, tactile, and textured. The silhouets challenge uniformity and celebrate both human creativity and technological advancement. Hybrids, the convergence of natural and engineered matter, signal a new design language, where form, function, and identity are reimagined through material innovation.
